Scientific Counsil of Ministry of Culture recommends preserving current view of the Old Academic Building

On March 15, 2017 Scientific Counsil of Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has reviewed architectural proposals of the Old Academic/Mazepa building restoration project.

Two proposals were discussed:

1. Preserving the building in its current aspect (as of 19th century), thus preserving protected enclave of Contract Square.

2. Historic restoration with baroque roof in style of 18th century

Council decision is to preserve current aspect of the building.
