Mazepa building restoration has started
We have started new big step in Mazepa building restoration.
In the past few years we have done architectural project papers and have approved them according to the law. In parallel we have applied for the funding of this project important not only for the University, but for the whole Ukraine. And in 2019 state funding was allocated for the restoration.
Restoration of Old Academic (Mazepa) building starts
First stage of Old Academic (Mazepa) Building restoration starts financed from state budget.
Books, archives, paintings being packed and moved to other premises of the University.
Scientific Counsil of Ministry of Culture recommends preserving current view of the Old Academic Building
On March 15, 2017 Scientific Counsil of Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has reviewed architectural proposals of the Old Academic/Mazepa building restoration project.
Two proposals were discussed:
1. Preserving the building in its current aspect (as of 19th century), thus preserving protected enclave of Contract Square.
2. Historic restoration with baroque roof in style of 18th century
Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has submitted Restoration project to the Ministry of Economic Development
On February 23, 2017, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine has submitted state investment project on Restoration to the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine.
According to the procedure stated in the Cabinet of Ministers Act no.571 from 22.07.2015. all capital expenditures, including restorations, requested from the state budget are tofollow the procedure of "state investment project". According to the procedure for the restoration of Old Academic building:
Ministry of Education has recommended Old Academic Building renovation project to be submitted for state funancing
January 20, 2017 Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has recommended Old Academic Building renovation project to be submitted for state funancing.
Previous actions by the NaUKMA:
November 24, 2016. The NaUKMA has submitted the Concept Note of the NaUKMA state investment project "Rennovation of Old Academic building".
Project documents for reinforcing and waterproofing walls and foundation of the old Academic building are renewed
February 2, 2016. NaUKMA has signed agreement with the State Reasearch and Project Institue "UkrNDIProektrestavratsiya" to renew project documents for reinforcing and waterproofing walls and foundation of the old Academic building.*
February 24. "Restoration Task" was approved by Historic and Cultural Monuments Preservation Kyiv Office
March 16. "Restoration Task" was approved by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine
